Mozambique, Inhaca: October 2010

Once again we decided to treat our gyro planes and took them for a flip to Inhaca Island, Mozambique. And this time 17 Auto Gyros took to the skies – 15 MT-Sport and 2 Calidus.

It must have provided a beautiful sight though daunting challenge to the ATCs at Kruger and Maputu International Airports, but they handled it well and we were soon on our way to the beautiful blue warm waters of Inhaca.

Flying time: 14 hrs.

The men in their magnificent flying machines were Theuns & Ninie, Sarel & René, Andre & Michelle, Johnny, Dickie & Glodina, Pieter & Jennifer, Sias & Johanna, Piet, Deon, Riaan, Werner, Glen, Lodewyk & Martie, Floris & Bianca, Willa & Riana, Walti & Trish, Johan & Anneri, Wessel & Susan, Cliff & Desiree.

What a sight – so many gyros all in one go, flying along a magnificent sunrise setting, like giant dragon-flies off on a mission.‘ (Dickie Hagerman).
